Welcome to our branch
Bribie Island was chosen as a promising location for an OWN branch, given its favourable demographics. After two “Meet and Greets,” we had enough enthusiastic women to fill committee roles, and officially became a branch on 16 May 2019, starting with 10 members. Soon, our members wanted to add regular social events to the meetings, so coffee mornings, movie outings, lunches, and local visits became monthly highlights. In 2024 we celebrated our fifth birthday with nearly 80 members!
Our activities
There are so many clubs and activities offered on Bribie Island. Rather than duplicating these, we encourage members to share these options with those interested.
With a range of ages spanning over three decades, our members cherish time together, always bringing laughter and conversation wherever we go.
We meet twice a month: the first Thursday for a social outing, either local or around Greater Brisbane, and the third Thursday at the local RSL for a meeting with a guest speaker or activity.
If you are seeking a warm, fun, and supportive group of vibrant women, the Bribie Island Branch of OWN is the perfect fit. Do not let “Older” deter you – we are all young at heart!

Attend a local branch meeting to complete and sign the membership form and pay the $20 annual fee ($10 if joining between January and April). Membership is renewed each July at the start of the tax year.
