The Older Women’s Network (Qld) Inc. is committed to promoting the rights, dignity and well being of older women.

Background

OWN (Qld) believes in a healthy positive approach to growing older.  In a multitude of ways older Australian women, Elders, have a wonderful amount of wisdom to contribute.

OWN may provide the means for women to support each other, explore other cultures and learn new understanding in the pursuit of continuing health and new friendship.  OWN (Qld) is a network of branches/groups.  We value members and guests.  Members are aged between forty-something and ninety-plus.

Our Members

Earlier this year we filmed some of our members to capture in their own words what OWNQ means to them and how their lives have changed since becoming part of our organisation.

This short video is testament to the welcoming spaces our branches create for women to develop meaningful community connections and friendships, stay informed and be heard.

We appreciate our members from the Bribie Island, Capalaba, Ipswich and Mitchelton branches for sharing their stories.

Thank you to the Qld Government for their support in funding the creation of the video.
